PRESS: Volkswagen offers 6 salaries to employees for dismissal
MOSCOW, Jun 9 (PRIME) -- Car producer Volkswagen has suggested paying up to six salaries for voluntary dismissal of its employees in Russia’s Nizhny Novgorod, Kommersant business daily reported on Thursday.
“According to the information of a representative of Volkswagen’s trade union in Russia, the staff in Nizhny Novgorod has been offered voluntary termination of employment agreement in June with payment of up to six salaries,” Kommersant reported.
“According to the trade union’s data, the company simultaneously insists that ‘there are no massive job cuts for Nizhny Novgorod’s employees’,” the daily reported.
Volkswagen’s alleged offer envisages that the employees can receive 6-salary payments if cancel their contracts until June 17, and 5-salary payments if terminate their contracts until June 29.
Kommersant also reported that Volkswagen Group Rus confirmed the information adding that the company had offered a benefits package, including money compensation, medical insurance until the end of 2022, and personal IT equipment, to its workers.
A representative of Volkswagen told PRIME that car production at the Nizhny Novgorod plant is in downtime, and the staff of around 200 people has been offered voluntary dismissal with a benefits package.
